Ridge View High School
Lugoff-Elgin High School
This loss was not how we wanted to end the regular season… and it was definitely not the fall we wanted right before heading into playoffs. I was unable to attend this match due to a family matter, so all I can really give are the scores. The #1 and #5 courts were so quick to be done that I did see them get their victories.
#1 Singles: Spencer Hinton vs. Jefferson Fulmore (6-0)(6-1): Spencer was in complete control from start to finish. Ridge View’s player had no answer for the quick play of Spencer.
#2 Singles: Matthew Mills vs. Ethan Kene (4-6)(1-6):
#3 Singles: Tyler Matthews vs. Kaleb Phelps (4-6)(4-6):
#4 Singles: Ryan Hill vs. Marc Bumanglag: (0-6)(6-4)(4-10):
#5 Singles: Holden Roberts vs. Jack Talledo (6-0)(6-0): Holden showed real thought as he moved this Ridge View opponent around the court before putting the ball away in the open court. Holden was playing like a guy who has been saving it all for playoffs.
#2 Doubles: Coby Morrison / Elijah Jordan vs. Alex Kivett / Daniel Gooding (3-6)(5-7):
Ridge View is a much stronger team than they have been in the past. However… Lugoff was not playing their game tonight. Hopefully it is the wake up call these boys needed to take them into playoffs. Playoffs start this Thursday, and Lugoff will be hosting a match for the first time in years. We will be hosting Cane Bay High School for our first match this Thursday.
