Lady Demons perfect in winning 4-5A softball title
Bailey Douglas belted her 15th home run of the season as the Lugoff-Elgin softball team closed out a perfect 8-0 season in Region 4-5A play with a 10-o win over visiting Blythewood Wednesday night.
In addition to blast off the bat of the Coker College signee Douglas, North Greenville University-bound Kaley Goerlich [North Greenville] went 4-for-4 in the rout. Both Aubrey Rabon and Emma Spradley went 3-for-3 at the plate.

The previous record for home runs in a single season by a LE softball player was held by Kelly Graham (10) in 2017. Bailey Douglas is on pace to set the bar extremely high for the next generation of LE softball power hitters. In addition, Douglas is on pace to further define her outstanding career by setting the record for most career home runs.
2019 is the Lady Demon’s very first 5-AAAAA Region Championship

The 2019 Lady Demons, led by their first-year head coach, Savannah Starling, won their very first 5-AAAAA Region Championship. The 5-AAAAA division includes the largest schools in the state of South Carolina. Click this link to see school population for 5-AAAAA schools. The largest school in this division boasts a population of 4,365 students. Meanwhile, Lugoff Elgin has 1,632 students. The division is filled with some of the best softball teams in the entire state, and among the very best is your very own Lady Demons who will be a number 1 seed moving into the 2019 playoffs. The team should expect to host their 1st round playoff game at home versus the number 4 seeded team. Below is a link to the 2019 playoff bracket which has the Lady Demons in the District IV side of the bracket playing the Upper state at Large winner on April 25. The rest of the bracket would include Region 2 ‘s 2nd place team, and Region 1’s 3rd place team. All dates and times are subject to change. Great job Lady Demons on another Region Championship!
