The Lugoff-Elgin girls golf team played Dutch Fork Tuesday in an 18 hole match at Camden Country Club. The team was without senior Michaelah Wise due to academic commitments, so Tristan Ray filled the number one slot. Ray shot the low score for the Lady Demons shooting a 100. This was Ray’s best 18 -hole total for her high school career.
“It was important for us to get in 18 holes before our Region Qualifier coming up on Monday. We have several players that had not played 18 before and this was a good opportunity for them. Instead of them picking up at double par, we had them pick up when they reached 10 strokes on a hole. I feel pretty confident that we can play 18 tournament holes, ” said Coach Zoe Dommel.
Sophomore Jessica Ni shot 130 in her first 18 hole play. Eight grader, Mary Elizabeth McCaskill shot 162. Senior Kelsey Ham shot 137 and freshman Brooke Jackson shot 150.
The Lady Demons travel on Thursday to the Woodlands to play Spring Valley and AC Flora.
